Orthostatic hypotension. (low blood pressure ) due to positions.
When you're sitting, standing, or laying down you have different blood pressures., The main reason is that when you stand from a different position you brain hasn't had time to get enough oxygen and that's why this happens.

Look it up and read about it. Talk to your dr about it and have him/her perform blood pressure tests while standing, sitting and laying down to be sure this is what you have.

Another condition to consider is BPPV ( benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) This is dizziness due to sudden movements of the head or jumping out of bed immediately without allowing your body to adjust to the change in equilibrium. If you have this condition, just stand up slower, take deep breaths before you stand and while you're standing..that should most definitely help reduce the dizzy. Other than that you cant really do anything about it

The most accurate reading for a blood pressure is taken at heart level sitting down. .

While your arms are hanging down or if you're standing , blood pressure will be lower naturally because of gravity. While lying down, it will be high. as the oxygen -carrying blood is directed to the heart and brain specifically the hypothalamus. This is why we lower or place the pt's bed in a trendelenburg position when he is in a cardiogenic shock or a dropping blood pressure. With your arms above your head, the blood pressure is also at its lowest. That's why it's impt for pts with a suspected heart attack to stay calm( you want oxygen to go to your compromised heart not to other parts of your body for cell metabolism.) ....... and not to raise their arms above their heads.
