My hands keep falling asleep.?!
Question: My hands keep falling asleep. Every night. I cant make them stop no matter what position I lie in. I have to stand up and walk around for a few minutes and then come lay back down. Needless to say I am not sleeping worth a crud. It's really painful. I had this feeling prior to being pregnant, but it has become severe since 5 months gestation. I would say it ranks an 8/10 on a scale.

Hon, I feel your pain. Although I did not have this while pregnant, I now have it 12 years later in both hands and yes it does wake me right out of sleep. It is referred to as carpal tunnel syndrome and there are a few things you can do to relieve it without medication. You can purchase wrist braces/splints (the ones I am using are ACE-Tek Zone), I wear them at night and my pain is greatly reduced. Also try a moist heat pack applied to your hands when you wake up, this will loosen up the cramps that are occuring. I agree with the above poster though in contacting your doctor too just to be certain. Hope this helps!!
It sounds like you are having blood circulation problems and may want to consult your doctor. I have never been pregnant, but would I would think that having that poor of blood circulation while pregnant isn't good.
Try laying on your side with your arm dangling over the side of the bed. It's the only thing that works for me.
Good luck
sounds like carpals tunnel to me... I would see a doc.
