Re: ingrown toenail taken out? Is Hospital necessary, or can it be done in local!
Question: Re: ingrown toenail taken out!? Is Hospital necessary, or can it be done in local surgery!?
I am considering having slight ingrown toenails handled!. There is no infection, just slight discomfort but I don't want it getting worse!.
Only thing is, can this be done by the podiatrist, and/ or local doctor, or is it a 'got to go to hospital' thing!?
I ask because I have spinal/hip and knee problems that would prevent me from being able to lie down on my back, or clamber up onto a high couch/bed!.
Please help if you know about this!
Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
podiatrist or local GP can do it very easily!.
They just take off the edge of it, so it never gets ingrown again!.
PS it may hurt like hell that night!.
If you could choose, I would say a podiatrist because thats their speciality, whereas a GP focuses on broader problems and didnt specialize in one particular area as the podiatrist did!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it can be done by a GP or podiatrist!. Best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It is an outpatient procedure and as long as you can put your foot flat on something posturing won't be an issue!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Had an ingrown toenail fixed years ago!. Only took a few minutes in a doctor's office!. No hospital needs to be involved!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had my GP do it, almost no recuperation time, maybe a few days of discomfort!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
A podiatrist can do it, and that is who I would recommend!. They can give you a local in office and deal with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
find a doctor that specializes in this like a podiatrist!.!.!.it is a very simple surgery that takes like 30 minutes or less!.!.!.they will give you a shot locally and cut it out!.!.you will have to doctor it with a soak and wrap it!.!.!.you will probably have a couple follow ups but its a very simple surgery!.!.!.you'll feel tons better once they cut it out right off the bat :)!.!.!.oh and they do it right in the office!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
