I have had numerous slight shoulder dislocations and it has been helpful t have someone else lift my arm out to my side at 90 degrees and slowly push it upwards so that it is straight up!. If that doesn't work, try doing the same thing with your arm out in front of you and slowly pushing it straight up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is a painful experience! My husband had dislocations in the past!. One day we were bike riding and he flew off a speed bump and bounced up in the air and landed on his arm!. When he stood up his arm was hanging in front of his chest and he exclaimed- my shoulder is out! I remember going to a class on emergency care and heard that it was important to grasp the hand and pull it very gently away from the body in a very smooth controlled fashion!. I believe it was only because he knew how it felt to be put back in that the 2of us were able to gently realign the shoulder!. Of course we did this immediately before swelling and spasm really set in!. I only believe it because I was there!! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not really possible to have a partial dislocation, but that certainly doesn't mean it can't be extremely sore!. Sometimes the dislocation can correct itself, but you may have trapped that nerve!. I think you need to be seen by an orthopedic specialist, to have it checked out!. Since you have a history of dislocations, it would not be out of the realm of possibility that something has been damaged!. And there is a surgery to correct the problem so you don't have dislocations happen again and again!. Meantime, I'd return to the ER and ask for somebody else, preferably somebody with the expertise- to look at it again!. It might be just soreness, but it might not be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you gone to a doctor for follow up!. You may be a candidate for corrective surgery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
