Question: If I'm allergic to Codeine, what other pain killers should i watch out for also!?

First of all to the person above me!.!.Oxycodone and oxycontin are the SAME DRUG, oxycontin is just extended release!.
You should also watch out for hydrocodone, oxycodone, and other similar opiates!. Just because you are allergic to codeine doesn't neccesarily mean you will have a reaction to these, just be on the look out!.
Also, what were your symptoms for codeine!? Some people just have an intolerance (vomitting, itching, etc) and not a true allergly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, if you are allergic to 'codeine, you will be allergic to ANY 'opiate derivative, such as , Norco, Vikidin, Percaset, Morphine, Percadan, (and heroin too) - Hopefully you get the jist!.
Now, what you can take would most likely be any "synthetic" IE!.!.!.!.!.'OXYCONTIN (not to be mistaken with OXYCODONE, which is a Morphine, Opiate derivative)
Yet, heed my warning, these kind of 'Pain Killers' are EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE!. You may be better of with a "non-narcotic" pain killer such as "Ultrim, or even 'Aleve for that matter!.!.!.!.!.
I hope that this helps and you are able to find some relief, I have 'degenerative disk and joint disease, bone spurs, compressed and bulging disks and not to mention -= I was the victim of a severe beating last November 27,2007 which left me with a "transverse progress fracture on L-3 disk, so I know how HARD it is to live with CHRONIC pain!. I take 120mg of Methodone a day just so I can get out of bed and function through-out the day!.
Methodone is the absolute best medicine you can be on IF YOU HAVE CHRONIC PAIN, reason being this, most doctors will not even put you on it if you are not going to be taking it for the rest of your life, it is harder to (the kick) is harder than even detoxing from Heroin or Alcohol!. Death upon detoxing Methodone is not uncommon!.!.!.

I'm allergic to codeine but I can take semi synthetic codeine such as Hydrocodone, Lortab, Vicodin!.
I would say definantly never take a Tylenol-3!. As for other things to watch out for I don't know you will have to talk to your doctor or pharmaicist about that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They are all different and codeine allergy is very common! It gives me a rash, but other painkillers did not!.
You also shouldn't have any trouble with over the counter products, and just tell your doctor about the codeine so he/she doesn't prescribe it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
