How long does a sprain arm WITH acute tendonitis?!

Question: How long does a sprain arm WITH acute tendonitis!?
How long does a sprain arm WITH acute tendonitis heal!?

I was playing Q-Tip soccer for Gym class and when I hit the ball, I twisted my arm and my wrist felt like it was grinding!.

The doctors took x-rays and that is when they said that I had sprain arm WITH acute tendonitis!. The put me in an arm brace and a sling because I told them when I move my wrist up, down, I get strong pain in the elbow joint!. When I move my arm to show my dad a lump on my elbow, I had a sharp stinging pain in the middle of my arm!.

Have anyone had this happening to them and if so how long did it take you to heal!?

I'll be seeing my PCP this week!.

Thanks for answering!.!.!.

The tendonitis will take a lot longer to heal than the sprain!. The fact that you are still having pain near the elbow and into the middle of your arm is a clear indicator that it is still very inflamed!. Without treatment there is really no telling how long it will take to heal!.

Until you see your doctor you can take Advil or Ibuprofen for pain, use ice for 20 minutes at a time, keep it elevated above your heart, and try to rest it as much as you can!. This can help with the pain and discomfort until you see your doctor!.

You may want to ask your PCP about hand therapy or a referral to an orthopedic for the tendonitis!. You may have what is commonly known as "tennis elbow" or "golfer's elbow" or both depending on which side/s of the elbow the pain is coming from!. They are both forms of tendonitis, just affecting different tendons!.

Hand therapy which often consists of a splint, ultrasound treatments, special anti inflammatory medication pushed directly into the area and exercises to reduce pain and strengthen!.

I just finished treatment a few weeks ago for medial epicondylitis (also known as golfer's elbow) in my left elbow and it helped a lot!. I have had both tennis and golfer's elbow in both elbows for over 15 years, however this last time the pain was so bad that I actually needed treatment for it for the first time!.

I have included links in source for golfer's and tennis elbow!.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
