Question: Whats the best treatment for nettle stings!?
My little boy has just fallen into some stingy nettles! he's 17 months old!. The stings are all over his arms, back and all up the inside of his legs!. (he was in the paddling pool so he only had trunks on) its obvioulsey irritating him coz he's screaming!. whats the best way to cool the swelling and stop the itching!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Put him back in the paddling pool and chuck some ice in as well!. Dry him and smother with calamine lotion
OR make a smooth paste with bicarbonate of soda with just a spot of water and paint him with it
OR use any after- sun cream as it will have aloe- vera in it
OR better still if you have an aloe vera plant squeeze the juice on him

use dock leaves, they have a long ovular shape and have a 'spine' type vein thing running up the middle, and grow in the exact same conditions as most nettles(handy huh!?)!.!.!.!.
squeeze them, twist slightly, then rub them on the stung area!.!.!.!.
i suppose you could try soothing cream!.!.!.!.
i saw my dad use shaving cream once, he said it was designed to do the same thing, I'm not sure how true that is but it seemed to help him!.!.!.!.

sorry just re read your questioin, if he is 17 months old then taking him to hospital wouldn't be a bad idea!.!.!.!.especially since he is obviously distressed!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
