Can a person drop a pain clinic or once their in do they have to stay with them?!

Question: Can a person drop a pain clinic or once their in do they have to stay with them!?
Answers:
You are completely within your rights to drop a particular pain clinic!. And truth be known, they can drop you at any time also!. Since just about everyone I've ever known has become addicted to narcotics after going to a pain clinic, I think its a great idea for you to leave!. However, it really depends on why you want to drop this one!. Do you want to because you want to get off narcotic pain pills for good!? Or because you don't like the way you are treated by the Dr's and staff members!? (Many pain clinic staff members are rude to everyone and consider all of their patients as drug seeking junkies!.) Or do you want to change to a different clinic because this particular clinic isn't giving you the prescription(s) you want to have!?

If you want to quit going to any pain clinics period, no, you don't have to keep going!. It's that easy!.
If the staff at this clinic treat you like a drug seeking junkie, they shouldn't do that and you should certainly find another clinic that treats you with the respect you deserve!.
If you want to quit that one and go to a new one because this one (for example only) is trying to treat you with non-narcotic pain medicine such as ultram or even darvocet, and you wish to have something stronger for your pain like hydrocodone or oxycodone!. This really depends on a number of factors!. You probably had to have your general practitioner give you a referral to this pain clinic!. He/she will want to know why you want to switch to another one!. If he/she doesn't agree with the reason, then they may not give you a referral to a new one!. Or if you have medicaid (or whatever it is called in your state), sometimes only certain pain clinics in the area accept medicaid and the one you're going to now may be the only one that takes your insurance!. You could still switch to another one, but if it didn't take your insurance, you'd have to pay all the expenses out of pocket, which would be very expensive!.

So its hard to answer your question without knowing more!. If you want to just quit going to the pain clinic, yes, you can quit anytime you want!. But if you were wanting to switch to another one, there are a lot of factors at play!. Speak with your general practitioner and he/she will be able to decide what is your best option!. Especially if you are being treated poorly at this pain clinic, you do not deserve that and your GP will send you to another one where you are treated with dignity and respect!. Good luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can do anything that you want to, but If it were me, I wouldn't drop the clinic I go to unless there is a very legitimate problem or issue!.
If you don't have an excellent reason they will think that you just don't like the drugs that they have recommended for your condition and believe that you are "Doctor Shopping"!.

You may not be, you may just "clash" with the people there, but unfortunately the Physicians and Nurses are trained now to keep their eyes open for "drug seekers"!. They are so paranoid about watching for it that I think sometimes their opinions are wrong about people, but you won't win once they have formed the opinion of you!.
If you were refereed to that pain clinic for your pain, I would be very careful!. Its hard to get a referral, and again, once you seem like you aren't happy about what is going on, and you are no happy with their choices for you they are gonna think that you are looking for drugs for recreational reasons!.

If you are new to your clinic and would like some suggestions on how to "deal" with them and how to express what you are saying without sounding like you are drug seeking to them, you can feel free to email me, I really don't want to just type all of that here if it isn't really your problem with them!. But I am happy to help you if I can, because i know how foriegn it was to me, I never thought i would be treated like an addict when i walked into my clinic!.!.!.!.but now I understand their side too!.

Good Luck to you and I hope that you find what works best for you!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
