Disturbed sleep and nightmares?!


Question: Disturbed sleep and nightmares!?
I am managing to get about 3 hours sleep a night, the rest is broken!. Dreaming constantly and having nightmares!. Waking up terrified!. Any practical advice!. No tablets!.

Gestalt dreamwork may help you!. The theory here is that each part of your dream, each character, each object, each place, everything, is a part of your mind!. A lot of these things are in your unconscious mind & you so you don't immediately recognise them in yourself!. In Gestalt dreamwork you take each part of the dream in turn and imagine you are that thing, and you talk as though you are that thing!. (It's better if you're on your own or with someone who knows what you're doing and can help!.) As yourself you can talk to each part of you!. Some people use 2 chairs, one for the dream part and one for themselves!.

For example, let's say you dream that you are being chased by an 8 foot demon through a house which is on fire!. You would become the demon and speak (or shout if you feel like it), eg:

Sitting in chair 1 (the demon): "I am chasing you!. I am enormous!. I will get you and do terrible things to you!."

Switch to chair 2 - physically move to sit in this chair (your normal self): "Why are you chasing me!? I am scared of you!. I'm running but you keep chasing me!. Why are you being so horrible to me!?"

In chair 1 (the demon): "I'm ANGRY with you!. I want to get you and eat you!. I hate you!. I want you to stand up for yourself but you don't!. You're pathetic and that makes me MAD!."

In chair 2 (your normal self): "I want to stand up for myself but if I do I might get into a worse situation!."

!.!.!. and so on!.

Later you can do the same thing speaking as the house!. "I am the house and I'm burning!. Argh, help me I'm burning!."

And then as the fire, "I am the fire and I will destroy you all!. I have contempt for all of you and I want to obliterate you, wipe you from your miserable existences!. You are all so weak and miserable compared to me!. I am the greatest POWER and I will consume you!. I'm loving this, destroying you all!."

Gestalt dreamwork may sound like a weird thing to do but I've done this all my life and it really WORKS!. As you do it you'll probably realise what the dream means, and you'll understand what's scaring you deep down and giving you these nightmares!. It's important when you pretend to be one of your dream parts that you FEEL yourself right into it, as though you were that person or thing!. Don't just give it lip service or it won't work!. What really matters are the emotions!. You need to feel the anger, the fear, the frustration, the hurt, and so on!. By bringing it out of unconsciousness & into your consciousness you'll find that the emotions make more sense and become less strong - and it's those emotions which are giving you the nightmares and keeping you awake!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Caffeine curfew!. Do no have any caffeine after 5 p!.m!.

Hot bath with essential oils!.

Sprinkle calming essential oils on your pillow!.

Wear earplugs if your room is surrounded by noise!.

Wear and eyemask/close curtains to block out light!.
