our daugher is having surgery on Thursday and her temp is 99!.1 and she is throwing up will they post-pone or is there a time limit like 48 hours before surgery that they can still do it she is 19 thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
99!.1 isn't that far out of the normal range which is 98!.6, some people just run warmer than others!. However, if she is vomiting, there are other things to worry about like fluid and electrolyte balance!. When you vomit, you lose a lot of potassium from your stomach!. Potassium, when out of whack can cause dysrhythmias in your heart!. Depending on how much she has been vomiting and if she is dehydrated, I wouldn't personally want to risk having surgery!. Optimally most doctors would prefer the patient be in good health!. It would probably depend on what kind of surgery she is having!.!. is it elective or emergent!?!? I would call the doctors office right away and let them know how your daughter is feeling and go from there!. I'm sorry I didn't answer your direct question, but there are too many variables to know what your doctor will want to do!. Good luck and I hope she feels better soon! by the way, replace those lost fluids!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well is her temperature in relation to why she is having surgery!? If not then there is a chance they will post pone it!. She already has an infection and with surgery there is already a risk of infection!. So depending upon what she has, how bad it is and so on they might want to hold off until her immune system is back to normal!. In the end it's up to the surgeon!. If he/she feels it could cause a problem then they will pit it off for a while!. If they don't think it will cause an issue they may go on with it!. There are a lot of factors when dealing with surgery like the kind she is having, how bad her illness is now and how her body is responding to it!. Will the surgery open up the possibility of a worse infection!? I would call her surgeon on Tuesday if she is still sick or not and just let them know she was sick and running and temp!. Take her temp!. every few hours and make sure it's not going up!. When you call tell them what her temp was and what was wrong with her as best as you know!. Then the surgeon will make up his/her mind from there!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if she iis still throwing up and still has a tempature thursday---then they will have to prostpone it!. get her to the doctor tomorrow and they will give her sme phenegran for the throwing up;, and she can have her surgery thursday!. she might have a virus!. good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they will postpone the surgery,,,,,and they will search for the cause of her temp and give treatment and then they can go with the surgery safely ,,,, otherwise the surgery will be complicated ----mostly respiratory complication

wishing the best for your daughterWww@Answer-Health@Com

Not to be rude or anything, but I think you should ask your daughter's doctor!.
Different hospitals do things differently!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
