Herniated disk??!
Question: Herniated disk!?!?
my dad has had a herniated disk for about 2 and 1/2 months and is having surgery next week!. He thought that it was just bulging scince that is what has been happening for the last 15 years!. anyway he is 45 and in very good shape!. He usually heals very quickly and handles pain extremely well!. we usually go ski some pretty hardcore stuff in utah/colorado between months december or february!. do think he will be able to do thisWww@Answer-Health@Com

The only one that will be able to tell you that answer is going to be the surgeon!. What is done during the procedure is going to have a major impact on this!. Is it just a simple laminectomy with discectomy or will there have to be any stabilization procedures done!. If it is a simple procedure there should be no reason why he cannot return to all activities!. The one thing that he is going to have to do is become very involved in a post surgical physical therapy program that incorporates a total body approach!. That means he is going to have to do work from his feet on up and should include balance, flexibility, strengthening, and posture!. It must be remembered that once a disc has been herniated there is always a chance that it could happen again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
My mother had surgery for this!. She recovered relatively quickly, couple weeks, so he might be able to! Considering the time away from now, he should be fine for skiing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
