What is the best way to treat torn cartlidge in the wrist? (tfcc)?!

Question: What is the best way to treat torn cartlidge in the wrist!? (tfcc)!?
My mom just went crazy because I'm in a lot of pain after getting a cortisone shot in my wrist!. I have a TFCC, or a torn cartlidge in my wrist and she is convinced that these cortisone shots will further damage my wrist!. My doctor said that my wrist would hurt but it is honestly more pain than i expected!. My mother is convinced that certain vitamins and supplements would have cured the cartlidge tear in my wrist!. Is this true or is she absolutely crazy!?! She thinks that instead of seeing a wrist specialist, or an orthepedic about a TFCC, I should have seen a natropath!. What would you advise for the best course of treatment for this injury!? Are cortisone shots harmful!? Would vitamin or supplements be helpful!? I'm really scared now, so anyone with this information would be GREATLY appreciated!. Thanks in advance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The cortisone shot causes a LOT OF PAIN! My doctor didn't warn me either and I ended up calling another doctor to ask and even asked here if the amount of pain I was experiencing is normal!. Apparently it is!. It will hurt like crazy the first day and a half or so (I had my injection at about 11 am and come diner time I couldn't hold a fork to feed myself) and then start to diminish!. It should only be a little sore after 48 hours and should be OK in 3-5 days!. Took about that long for me!. An ice pack does help with this!.

If your tear is not bad then immobilization will let it heal!. Get yourself a good sport brace from Wal-Mart or Walgreens or Rite Aid and keep it on and try not to work the wrist too much!.

Any herbs or medicines that promote healing will help with the process but it's like any wound, if you move it then it's going to keep tearing and will take longer to heal!.

Be sure to follow up with a wrist specialist!. I had an Orthopedic Surgeon diagnose me with a TFCC and even sent me for and MRI Arthrograph which came back positive for a TFCC!. Then I went to a hand and wrist specialist who told me that there is as high as a 90% misread rate on those MRI's and that I do NOT have a TFCC!. This is after a cortisone injection, MRI and 5 weeks of physical therapy!. Turns out I don't have a TFCC!. So make sure you see a specialist who can tell you for sure what's going on in there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
