Question about Lupus?!

Question: Question about Lupus!?
I have a ANA titre of 1:80, which as I understand is only borderline abnormal!. I have moderate degenerative arthritis in my neck, but extreme pain in my right wrist, fingers and arm, moderate on my left side!. My C-Reactive Protein is normal!. My doctor is resubmitting my blood work for further evaluation!.

Is it possible that I have lupus and is it normal that my doctor will only prescribe Naproxen!? I don't want to sound like a whiner, but I'm in a significant amount of pain that was only managed by vicodin that I got from my husband!.

Am I entitled to something stronger, or do people usually just deal with it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Well, first he has to figure out what's going on with you!. Vicodin can cause problems for someone who may have kidney disease from Lupus!. I think he's just trying to find out the scoop before he starts prescribing narcotics!. If you get a diagnosis, then yes, the doctor is obligated to allieviate your pain!. If the NSAID's aren't doing it for you then you are entitled to take something stronger!. He may precribe something like Norco which is vicodin without as much tylenol!. Oxycontin and Demoral and dilaudid are also other pain medications that can be prescribed to help with the pain!. If you have Lupus then you may want to see a pain management specialist as the narcotics can have some severe side effects over time and they'll want to move you around on them to prevent this!.

My wife takes Norco currently but has taken all of the above medications on and off during Lupus flares!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
