What could be wrong with my knee?!

Question: What could be wrong with my knee!?
For two or three weeks now I've had pain in my right knee that feels like it's under and to the left of my knee cap!. When my knee is bent it feels like something is stretching in my knee, and when it's straight its an achy pain!. Whenever I walk it's more of a sharp stabbing pain, and my knee makes a popping sound, and it will sometimes lock!. Since last night my shin will go completely numb for a few minutes at a time!. I can poke at it and I can't feel anything, but I can still wiggle my toes and move all my joints!. I've been icing my knee a few times a day, and sitting with it elevated when I can!. I take ibuprofen as often as it's safe to!. It's pretty swollen!. I haven't been more or less active, and I don't do any high impact workouts or sports!. What could be wrong!? How can I help the pain!? I'm going to the doctor next week about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because you said it's making a popping sound it makes me think that your ACL may be torn!. The only real way to tell what's wrong though is xrays and maybe an MRI!. If the pain becomes to bothersome or you become really incapacitated I would call the DR and see if you can move your appointment up!.

Hope this helps!!

you could just be working it too hard!. (it happens to me alot when i skateboard for a long time)
or it could be a stressed joint!.
try as hard as you can to stay off of it
dont put anypressure on it at all for about 5-8 days and it should feel better
but after that dont work it really hard
and if its still as bad go to a docter and get it checked outWww@Answer-Health@Com

this is an easy answer for me as i had this only a few years ago, the problem is that you've strained your ligaments!. just rest it and maybe if that doesn't work, i would see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Let the doctor answer that question!. It sure sounds a bit serious!. But it's just your knee, it can be fixed don't worry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

try some pain meds, if that does not help, you will probably end up getting an MRI of your right knee!. It could be a tear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My roommate has had four knee surgeries, she has had to have a replacement ACL!. I recently injured my lower back, which I did not know, and was experiencing sharp pain in my right knee!. My first thought was to ask my friend because she is pretty experienced with knee crap!. Well the pain I was describing, sounded like a meniscus tear!. The only difference was I was not feeling the popping, and locking!. YOU HOWEVER ARE!. It sounds to me like you have damaged your meniscus, you need an MRI!. I would consult your doctor on which type of specialist could help you!.

If you have an MRI, and your ligaments are fine!. You should most definitely go to a chiropractor!. That is who helped me, I needed x-rays, which located the problem immediately, and now I will probably be having back surgery!.

It's crazy, some things aren't what they seem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well it could very easily be gout!. It usually is just a stabbing pain but in its early stages it can be annoying or ache!. Start drinking cherry juice and cut down to 3oz of meat a day if you eat more then that!. Fatty foods and high protein can make it worse but if you drink a lot of cherry juice it will help purge the crystals out of your blood stream!. If it gets much worse in the next day or two I would go to the emergency room just to be safe!. You can also check out www!.webmd!.com just to help you out as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
