Question: Can appendectomy scar tissue cause pain after 40 years!?
My appendix ruptured when I was 16 years old and was removed!. I have a long scar!. In the past 40 years, I have gained weight and have a protruding stomach!. I now get a dull pain directly over my scar after eating!. A CT scan showed everything to be normal!.
Can scar tissue from the appendectomy be the problem!?

Yes!. The scar tissue is called "adhesions", and they could be giving you more trouble now that you've gained weight!. Sometimes adhesions can cause a bowel obstruction, which is a life-threatening condition!.
