Can appendectomy scar tissue cause pain after 40 years?!

Question: Can appendectomy scar tissue cause pain after 40 years!?
My appendix ruptured when I was 16 years old and was removed!. I have a long scar!. In the past 40 years, I have gained weight and have a protruding stomach!. I now get a dull pain directly over my scar after eating!. A CT scan showed everything to be normal!.

Can scar tissue from the appendectomy be the problem!?

Answers:
Yes!. The scar tissue is called "adhesions", and they could be giving you more trouble now that you've gained weight!. Sometimes adhesions can cause a bowel obstruction, which is a life-threatening condition!.

Losing the weight may get rid of your pain!. Otherwise, you can consult a surgeon about having an exploratory laparotomy!. This is an outpatient procedure where the doc can go in through a tiny incision with a camera and cut away the adhesions!. (Adhesions don't show up well on a CT, which is why yours looked normal!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com
