What syringe size would you use for IM injections?!


Question: What syringe size would you use for IM injections!?
Im a nursing student and got this one wrong on my exam!.

Dose required= 0!.5 ml intramuscular injection

What syringe would you use a 1 ml or a 3 ml!.!? And why!? could you use both!? I said 1 but its a 3 ml!.!.Im trying to find loop holes that a 1 ml could also be used!. any resources PLEASE let me know or i fail my exam thanks

Answers:
1/2 ml would leave 1/2 ml if the needle is long enough, but, 3ml is better!. Also the bigger the syringe, the less force of the injection!.
1ml syringes are mostly used for sub q injections for insulin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You cannot use a 1 ml because you will not be able to aspirate enough to check your placement!. Sorry!. You have to think about all aspects of the injection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
