How much is getting a doctors note going to me?!

First off, I don't have benefits or insurance. However, I need to go to a doctor/clinic and get a note stating that I am healthy to return to work (I am getting over the flu). I walked into a clinic a few days ago and they said it would be nearly $80 for a exam, which then, they would give me a note. Is this fee normal?? Is there somewhere else I could go that would be less or expensive or better yet, free?
