No, it is not a diuretic. It reduces inflammation.

If you want to reduce fluid swelling, and it's not from heart disease or something, try drinking more water. If you don't drink enough water, your body thinks there is a drought and it holds onto water. When you drink your 8 or so glasses a day, then you will find the water going down the drain so to speak. Oh, and be sure to be around a bathroom a day or two later because you will pee out more than you take in.

And reduce your salt to zero added and avoid salty foods.

If you are talking about fluid in a joint after an injury, that will usually be reabsorbed after a few days. If it is so swollen you can't function, a doctor can put in a needle and drain the fluid.
