Chunk of toenail falling off?!

Question: Chunk of toenail falling off?
I hit my toe against a table and a chunk of the toenail on my big toe is coming off. My friend Nick says that I shouldn't take it off, but everything I do seams to make it come looser and looser. Should I just take it all the way off? Or leave it on as long as possible, trying to avoid an ingrown toenail.

Answers:

Just take it off so that you could take good care of it. It would fall off anyway why wait to remove it. To avoid any infection like toenail fungus, you need to clean and put some betadine on your toe.

I would recommend you do what the Beatles did and "let it be" man. Just give it some time to grow a little bit of a new nail, and fall off so you won't have to uncomfortably wear a band aid all the time.
Good luck!

I've hit my toe before. It was not fun, not fun at all.

It'll fall off by itself eventually but if you want to pull it off you can. after it falls off a new one will grow but it takes a while.

happened to my sister
