I give my adult dog, (over 50 pounds in weight), one adult aspirin every day for joint pain. Smaller dogs need less. Consult your vet before doing so.

Originally our vet prescribed a pain med but our dog did not do well on it. It caused him problems the very first day he was on it. Vets don't like telling you that you can give your dog aspirin for two reasons.

1. People tend to over do it and can cause serious problems for your dog or even death.
2. They don't make any money off the meds if you buy them in the grocery store.

Do NOT give your dog Tylenol or Naproxen Sodium.
Do NOT give a cat aspirin unless directed to do so by a vet. Cats can not process the aspirin as well and can easily overdose.

Lots of research and strait talk with my vet.

you can give it a baby aspirin.. if its a small dog do half of one.

i give my 4lb yorkie half a baby aspirin after shots as instructed by my veterinarian.
