Some people will say to use warmed sweet oil ,but there are better oils out there to use, I use a mixture of lavender oil and clove oil warmed, it takes all the pain away, it burns for a second but after that it is all gravy! Also if he is suffering from ear pain from a cold then there is a great possibility that the phlegm from his cold is draining into his ear and caused an ear infection and he needs an antibiotic to get rid of the infection, also get him some children's Tylenol for extra pain and swelling.
