You can easily check your minimal health care rates in internet, for example here - healthquotes.awardspace.info

All of this depends on how much time your have. I would first, go to my dentist and get a firm diagnoses. Ask what options are available; extraction with implant replacement, root canal, etc. I would also ask my Dentist what he/she recommends. Then I would call my insurance company and find out exactly what is covered and the dollar amount (or the Dentist's biller should be able to do this on the spot, tell them you don't want to proceed until you know). Then I would aks the Dentist if they accept what insurance covers. If yes, get it in writing. If not and you have time, get a copy of your medical records (you will have to pay for them and sign a release) and call other Dentists in your area. If you like your current Dentist, but he/she won't accept what the insurance pays only, I'd set up a payment plan with them for any uncovered amount and I'd get it in writing. If you keep to the payment plan they shouldn't send your balance to a collection agency and trash your credit. Hope that helps.

$250, because i was considering it, but got a root canal instead which was ten times more expensive. Once a dentist told me its cheaper if yoi go to your local dental school and volunteer to be a dummy.

Call your insurance company.

Seriously?
