I need health insurance coverage after having self pay lap band surgery.?!

Question: I need health insurance coverage after having self pay lap band surgery.?
I had lap-band surgery, self-pay, and now I need health insurance. I don't expect them to cover complications resulting from the surgery, but I need insurance. Has anyone else had problems getting insurance without having to get high risk health insurance?

Everybody has had problems getting insurance after such a surgery. Your only viable option other than the high risk pools will be a group policy through an employer.

Individual policies all have a height and weight guideline. Since you qualified for the surgery that will put you above the height and weight guideline of all companies. You will actually have to loose the weight and keep it off for 1 year before you can reasonably expect to get on an individual plan.
