i too had surgery to reconstruct the ligaments in my ankle because i severely tore them and i was just told i was aloud to start walking. i am not in a cast though. i was only in a cast for 8 days and then got a boot but when i go the boot i still wasn't aloud to walk for another 3 weeks. i was on crutches for a month and now walking. IT SUCKS!

anyway, no it doesn't hurt the mobilizing it but not wearing it can make your cast crack and break. that's why they give it to you... i would wear it when you walking anywhere.

i feel bad for you. cast suck. the walking boot is so much easier

ankle ligament reconstructive surgery on January 10th.
