WTF is wrong with my digestive system?!


Question: WTF is wrong with my digestive system?
I am always so bloated, I only poop max twice a week (hard). The thing is that I actually eat really healthily and drink lots of water and really try to limit caffeine. I never eat refined foods. Lots of fresh fruit, veggies, wholegrains, no meat and a little dairy. I excercise moderatly. The strange thing is that I used to eat really badly (up until about a year ago) and I never had problems like this. I've been avoiding wheat but it hasn't made any difference. I know that I don't eat a lot of fat so I tried adding more by putting cheese on my dinner and eating lots of nuts but that hasn't helped. Orange juice does not help either. I started using flaxseeds (aka linseeds) on my cereal and that helped for a while but I'm not sure it is anymore, also I find it really annoying that I always have to eat something that I can mix it through because some mornings I just want something different!. I do take a multivitamin and mineral with 13mg iron which i know can be constipating but this problem has been going on for much longer that I've been taking it. I read a book about digestive health but it was no use. My mum and gran also suffer like this. I really sick of this and desperate, too embarrassed to tell anyone. It makes me worried because colorectal cancer is in my family. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? Serious answers only please, others will be reported. Thanks

You are doing all the right things, I suggest you see your doctor, and get a referral to see a Gastroenterologist. Maybe even have a colonoscopy. the worse part of this procedure is the prep. I have had 4, and I'm 45 years old. Colon Cancer runs in my family, so I'm very careful. Good luck, I hope you find out what is going on, and get it corrected.

You might be doing absolutely nothing wrong but some people are just prone to constipation and it is all.All you can do is to have a maximum intake of fiber in your diet and to do some exercise.If you feel pain in your intestines take some light pain medication and wait for nature to do its job and relieve you.Constipation is no fun but i is very common and most often a very benign issue.
