Nurses: Can high blood pressure run in a family? I am a college student and a physcial ed. major. I have a health class and today in my health class, we took our blood pressure. My blood pressure was a little high. My father and my brother both have high blood pressure, but I eat healthier than they do. Am I at risk for high blood pressure?

Yes, it can. However, I wouldn't worry at this point. Keep eating healthy, exercise, and see a doctor once a year.
