Try taking a short cat nap earlier in the day to give you the energy needed to stay up through the night. There are a number of ways to stay up without resorting to energy drinks and other non-natural help.
What you eat plays a big factor in how to stay awake all night. A heavy meal in the evening, rich in carbs, will make you sleepy fairly early and you’ll have difficulties getting through the evening, much less the wee hours of the morning. Instead, stick to fairly light foods and look for things that give you energy, like a banana or salad.
Exercise can also help and this is a great way to keep your mind clear, as well. This is a great way to give yourself a burst of energy in the middle of the night. Try jogging in place, doing jumping jacks or even jogging around the room or block.
Fresh air is another method of waking yourself up, so open a window and let the cool night air in. If it’s cold, all the better.
