Well most likely he will take some tests to make sure something didn't go wrong post surgery first, if he was to give you any pain meds it would be vicodin (hydrocodone 5/500mg). You need to know something first though. If the pain is bearable sometimes then do not take your medicine when you do not need it. Opium is the most highly addictive drug in the world. It can ruin your life in a matter of months. It distracts you for work, school, sports, etc. If you get the medication do not abuse it and do your best not to use it. It actually kills brain cells hence when its difficult to learn in school when your brain is being attacked, not to mention the euphoria it creates.
If you are in pain then I would recommend seeing your doctor. One alternative to ask for if he/she writes vicodin is tramadol. It is a similar pain medication but not nearly as addictive as vicodin. It is still a great medication. However like I said before, your doctor is going to find out why your hand is hurting, its a little suspicious to heal and then come back later claiming it hurts, so something must be wrong in your hand, Good Luck
