Chest making cracking noise?!
Question: Chest making cracking noise?
My chest has recently been making cracking noised everytime i take a deep breath! its kinda annoying because it happens every few minutes, and i feel the need to take deep breaths and yawn every so often for some reason...oh and i have pectus excvatatum where the chest is pushed in (sunken chest). It cracks near the top of the sternum...please please pleaase reply to this i really need some opnions on what it could be...theres also constant mild pain which is annoying too.

you should go to doctors immediately.
On 3rd December I skidded on ice, fell and winded myself, diagnosed as broken rib, for which there is no treatment. I remember feeling my rib cage sink into my chest and was compelled to take deep breaths to ease it. When I sneezed it happened again and I jumped up in agony, taking in a deep breath to ease the agonizing pain. Even after ten weeks I still have soreness, and pain while turning onto my left side in bed. I never had a cracking noise but perhaps you have a break near the sternum. I can understand how you feel but doubt that anything can be done other than presctiption painkillers. Good luck. God bless. Gladgran. February 2011
