Infected Ingrown toenail?!
Question:
Infected Ingrown toenail?
Ok I have had this bugger for over a week. I have soaked it applied Neosporin and barked at the kids to stay away from my toe. The last time I had an ingrown was March of this year. I can stand it. I am wearing sandals so what is the excuse now. I do not trim my toenails the doctor took the whole nail of in March. It is back and it is painful. Last year I had one so bad I was brought in the OR for removal and I&D. The worst part was the poke from the IV. This time I had a block around my toe. OUCH major pain. What am I doing wrong? I know it is genetic but common this is nuts. Anyone else deal with this?

I dont think This warrants a hospital visit although painful but no. I am just looking for answers before I go to the Doctor.

Yuck no toe nail. Imagine the sandals I would have to pass up.
Answers:
The doctor told me to soak it in water with epsom salts (to be bought at your local drug store) 3 times daily. The water should be warm to hot, in order to increase circulation in your toe. However if it is infected, I would go to your doctor and they can prescribe both topical and oral antibiotics that should remover the readness, and help alleviate the pain and swelling.
