How can this be healed?
My boyfriend has a disk in his lower back that's rubbing up against a nerve. He went to therapy today. How can this condition be healed and treated? Like, I know exercises can help, but does it treat it or what? How is it treated and healed?
Answers:
First of all, don't fool yourself...this condition CANNOT BE HEALED...it can only be managed...
The only way to really RID yourself of a problem like this is to have surgery...and sometimes the end result of that is far worse than the back injury or condition itself.
Physical therapy, heat and/or cold applications, medicine like muscle relaxers and pain meds, and good body mechanics at all times can prevent further damage and just treat the symptoms ONLY...there is no such thing as "healing" this condition.
