Ear damage from bass?!

Ear damage from bass?
I have been listening to deep basses from subwoofers in my friends car for the past two nights and my left ear is starting to hurt. Nothing too serious but is there anything to do to heal my ear drum or am i screwed? I know the bass is horrible for the ear drum but what can i do?

Unfortunately damage to the ear drum is not reversible. The best thing to do is avoid exposing yourself to excessive, loud noises. Hearing loss is not a normal part of aging as people get old, it is ONLY caused by loud noises. So prevent yourself from developing hearing loss, prevention is all you can really do.
