Question:

How can I get rid of my back pain in the morning, and is it a sign of a bigger problem?

Recently I've been having nasty lower back pain every morning. This happened about a year ago, but only lasted a couple of weeks. I visited a doctor and he gave me a list of back exercizes to do... wich seemed to get rid of the pain.
Of course shortly there after I stopped doing the exercizes.
The same pain came back about a month ago... only this time it's much worse, to the point of waking me up about 4 hours after I go to bed. I've been doing back exercizes, but it seems to only be getting worse...
Typically at night it's gone, but as soon as I lay down to sleep... it comes back (during the course of the night).
I've tried orthodics for my shoes, and the pillow between the legs.. to no avail. The only other thing I could think of is getting a new matress to try to alleviate it. Any other suggestions?


Answers:

A new mattress may be what you need. You can also try sleeping on your back with pillows under your legs which put your legs in a position like you were sitting in a chair but lying down.
