Thigh numbness...pinched nerve?!

Question:

Thigh numbness...pinched nerve?

I noticed yesterday that the outer part of my right thigh from just above my knee to almost my hip feels really strange, almost like it's asleep. Today when I got up my knee was a little sore. I've never had any injuries that would cause this (back/knee injuries), but my knees always pop and sometimes hurt. What could it be?

Answers:

It could be meralgia paresthetica, a pinched nerve from wearing tight pants or a tight belt that causes thigh numbness. Or it could be your sciatica nerve which sounds more like your symptoms.
