How do I make my cast not stink?!
Question:
How do I make my cast not stink?
I just broke my right wrist, and need to have this cast on for 4 more weeks. It's a typical fiberglass cast with like the cloth/cotton kinda lining on the inside...
Im about 2 weeks into this cast, and have 4 more to go. I noticed that it started to smell a little bit probably from the sweat and other stuff. Is there any ways to prevent it from smelling as the rest of the time goes on? Any "Home Remedies" ? Any help would be fine ... plz

If I were you, I would call your ortho doc or the nurse at the office and ask them about it. I've been taught that if it smells in the cast there might be an infection brewing. Maybe the cast is too tight in an area and causing a pressure sore that is starting to get infected. Or you scratched an itch inside the cast with something sharp and scratched yourself bloody and starting to fester.
You should NOT be putting powders and sprays down there.
Read these cast care instructions, which are pretty generic for most places. http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/learning-ce...
The easiest thing for them to do is just change the cast.
