Why is hot air hard to breathe?!

Why is hot air hard to breathe?
I was in a 180 degree sauna today and felt like I couldn't inhale at all.
Answers:
It's not actually the hot air it's the humidity. You feel like your breathing water. And the hot air with it does not help our lungs were not built for air at that temp.
