Is this some sort of motion sickness?!

Question:

Is this some sort of motion sickness?

Every time I try out a new video game system for the first time (not the earlier ones, such as Super Nintendo), I always seem to get overheated, start sweating excessively, and feel very nauseated. And through time and effort of playing, I become sort of, acclimated to the graphics of the new system. Here's a few examples.

When the Nintendo 64 first came out, I had trouble playing Super Mario 64 because it would make me feel sick. I couldn't even muster an hour of game time. But as I played, I felt less sick every time, and increased my gaming hours until I got used to it...

When I first got my Playstation 2, I only had one game: Ratchet and Clank. However, I could barely get in two hours of play time, because it would make me feel sick. But as the same with the N64, the more I tried playing, the more I adapted...

Just recently, I played the X-Box 360 for the first time in months. And I mean I really sat down and played, not just a Wal-Mart trial. The game I played was Sonic the Hedgehog. This was my first time playing it. And I played for about an hour until I felt too sick to continue. But today, I tried playing again. Yes, the sick feeling arose again, but wasn't as strong. I was able to play for more than three hours! The only reason I stopped is because my time was up. But even so, I still felt sick the whole way through.

So is this some sort of motion sickness? And is there any way to handle this? I've had this problem my whole life it seems...

Answers:

i have kind of the same problem when i play sims2. after about an hour my eyes hurt and i feel dizzy and sometimes sick for about an hour. i really think that it's due to my concentration on the screen, i hardly look away. your eyes may be getting tired from constantly following characters around the screen, and it makes you feel sick. i avoided it by taking a break about every 15 minutes and drinking water. hope this helps!
