How come when I don't show up to an appointment I get charged?!
Question: How come when I don't show up to an appointment I get charged?
Why is it ok for a Doctor or other professional to miss their appointments without calling 24 hours. I have had several instances this year where I showed up on time to my appointment and the receptionist said the Doctor wasn't in today and to reschedule. I wasted my gas and my time and my calendar to go to this appointment. I didn't get proper notice. Why am I not getting the service for free? Fair is Fair right?

I agree with you.
You don't get the treatment that we would all see as fair because, frankly, the doctor is in control of the situation. When you go into a doctor's office, you are stepping onto his or her domain. And while I do honestly feel like most doctors are smart, caring people, they are trained to believe they are always right (which is hopefully an accurate assessment). Because of this, they can be inclined to think that they are above the same rules they set for their patients.
What it boils down to is that you should ask your doctor that very question next time. :)
If the Dr has rescheduled you should not be charged. Stand up for yourself or see someone else more reliable.
