Lower back pain while doing the elliptical?!

Question: Lower back pain while doing the elliptical?
I've been doing the same cardio workout on and off for over a year where I do the elliptical for an hour and weight training after. The past two days though my lower back is in pain as soon as I begin doing the elliptical and disappears as soon as I get of the machine. I know my form is fine. any ideas on other factors that might be creating the mysterious pain? Thanks

Answers:

Back pain is usually from muscles getting pinched in your back. There can be tight muscles there so that when you get on the elliptical and start moving you are moving the tight muscles to cause them to go into pain. It can be in your lower back where the movements of your hips are a contributing factor to the pain. Freeing up your back muscles should get rid of the pain and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
