After wearing contact lens for a long time, my eyes become always red...?!
Question:
After wearing contact lens for a long time, my eyes become always red...?
...and very dry, unless I use some drops that remove the red, they then disappear.
These few days every morning I wake up and I see my eyes red in the mirror, would they be permanent and by eating some blueberry, is this possible that they will finally disappear?
Answers:
stop using the "drops that remove the red", thats probably part of the problem right there. contact lens wear and "vasoconstrictors" dont mix very well.
you may need to see an eye doctor to solve this b/c there are multiple possibilities:
1) hypoxia or low oxygen to the eye: would need to stop using contact and/or refit in a silicone hydrogel lens
2) GPC or inflammatory eyelid problems: would need to stop using contacts for awhile then use antihistamine or anti-inflammatory eyedrops or both, and possibly refit in a daily disposable lens if possible
3) contact lens solution sensitivity (although this usually causes redness when you put the lenses IN, not when you take them out): would require a solution change.
4) vasoconstrictor addiction: if you have been using visine or something like it for more than about 10 days: you would obviously need to stop doing that
eating blueberries (or anything else) will have no effect.
