20/20... 20/600??!
Question:
20/20... 20/600??
My contact prescription is for -6.00 for my left eye and -5.50 for my right. (that's the "PWR" - the other numbers are BC 8.6 and DIA 14.2) What is that equivalent to in 20/20 vision? It's not 20/600 is it? I know I'm blind but I didn't think it was that bad. :)
Answers:
Your prescription of 20/600 is about the same as seeing your hand about a foot away from your face in perfect focus, am I right?
Now, your contact lenses need to be in a shape which conforms to your eyeball. So, the curve is 8.6
...And the size of the contact going over your eye is a diameter of 14.2mm
By the way, your eyes are not as bad as you think they are, but if you ever choose laser surgery, you could be seeing 20/20 for life.
