I sleep with my eyes open?

I sleep with half of my eyes open.. Could this be dangerous? Also, I have very dry eyes and when I blink I see white patches then they go away??(When I blink again)

My friend sleeps with her eyes open but her eyes don't get dry and she doesn't see white patches. It is normal if you sleep with your eyes half open but it isn't normal if you see white patches I think you should go see a doctor just to make sure.
