State assistance is usually accepted at most locations, otherwise there are discount options available. Wal*Mart, Sam's Club, Costco, Target, etc. all offer great eyewear at a fraction of the cost. Most have payment options available also. Mention you have a limited budget, give a set amount on what you wish to spend, and see what they have to offer. A lot of times the glasses price seems so high, because there are "built-ins" added on (ultraviolet coating, scratch coating, anti-reflective coating, etc. etc.) Usually you can go with basic plastic lenses and get by pretty cheap. I definitely recommend ultraviolet coating, it is a clear coating but the protection it offers your eyes is priceless.
