Though "tearing" can be caused by a lot of reasons (i.e. dryness, foreign material in your eye, infections, abrasions, allergies) these are usually accompanied by eye redness and DISCOMFORT.
In your question you stated "for no reason" which I think means they just tear without any redness or DISCOMFORT. In this case, all the previously mentioned reasons become the less likely cause.
What could be the problem is a block in the lacrimal drainage system, which is the drainage system for your tears. You may be producing a normal amount of tears, but the drainage system might not be working properly (incomplete/complete blockage), thus your tears would still overflow, seemingly for no apparent reason since lacrimal duct block is usually PAINLESS.
See an ophthalmologist, have yourself evaluated properly so you can be treated accordingly.
