What is this sticky liquid that comes from my eyes?!

What is this sticky liquid that comes from my eyes?
when ever i scratch my eyes they giv out this clear sticky liquid for about 30 min. what is this studd?
also along with the liquid comes this soft white stuff that builds up on the inside of my eyelid, what is that too?
Answers:
I refer to them as eye boogers, it's caused by dust in your eye much like actually boogers are caused in the nose.
If what your talking about isn't what's also referred to as sleep I'm not sure.
