How long before you get used to putting in and taking out your contacts?!

Question:

How long before you get used to putting in and taking out your contacts?

I just got contacts for the first time yesterday. It takes me about half an hour to put them in and another half hour to take them out. I would like to know how long it took to master the art of contact insertion and retrieval.

Answers:

i suppose every one is different, i think that it took me 1-2 weeks. Make sure that you take baby steps when starting contacts, a few hours no more then 8hrs a day until you get use to them because you will notice at first you eyes will become really dry. If you have to, take a lens case with some solution and have you glasses handy if you get to the point when you just have to take them out.
At first i found it easier is i looked off to the side while i rested the contact on my eye them without blinking do a circle movement with your eye to get the bubbles out then blink. Taking them out is the same look off to the side and sort of pinch them out, but as i said before if you let your eyes get too dry it is harder and more painful to remove them, get some moistening eye drops to help you. Good Luck once you have mastered it you will love the freedom of seeing without the restrictions of glasses.
