What do you think of Acuvue Oasys contact lenses? My doc wanted me to try them o!

Question: I went online and found out a lot of people are having bad reactions to it, like having dry eyes, eye infections, and even cornea ulcer. I'm kinda freaked out about it. Another question, how do people get blood in their cornea from sleeping in with contacts or wearing contacts too long? is it serious?

Oasys and AV2 are fantastic products. The people who are reporting problems are those who aren't wearing them properly - sleeping & keeping them in too long, dirty hands, lots of improper wearing reasons... nothing grosses me out more than hearing about someone who has a nasty eye infection because they slept in their lenses for a week without cleaning/disinfecting. (bleah)

If you get into good habits early, then you can be successful with your contacts. Who fits them makes a difference too, and you should not over-wear your lenses (see above) and alternate them with glasses wear to give your eyes a break.
Example - two days contacts (with taking them out each night) then glasses one day, alternating... this gives your eyes a break.

Your blood vessels get bigger from the lack of oxygen getting to your eye while you are in contacts, so it's pretty much the reason why some contacts wearers look like they have roadmaps all over the sclera (white part) or have been drinking all night.

Ask your eyecare professional, and really give those Oasys lenses a chance. I loved them :)

Good luck & enjoy good eye health!

i also did some research when my doc recommended acuvue oasys... the most positive reviews ive seen are for acuvue oasys and acuvue 2
personally ive used both and so far i think they are great

At the office I work at, we prescribe AV Oasys to about 60% of our patients and we haven't had any complaints so far.

The people who get eye infections or cornea ulcers are usually not cleaning their lenses properly or wearing them way too long.
