Question about contact lenses...?!

Question: Answer as many as you can. Thanks!

1. Does the contact lens fitting fee include the first pair of contacts?

2. How many times can you try out different contacts, on average? (ex. if the first pair doesn't fit comfortably can I keep asking for different brands until I find a brand that's good?)

3. I need toric contact lenses. What brand would you recommend? Please recommend brands for both soft contacts and hard contacts.

4. Is it common, during the trial period, to wear one brand of contact in one eye and another in the other eye?

The fitting will include the first set of lenses

Your doctor will try different types of lenses until s/he finds the right fit

Try to go with a soft toric lens vs. a hard lens-hard lenses are very uncomfortable and take a long time to get use to. Soft lenses are much easier to handle, and if you rip/tear/or have one lost, it's cheaper to replace. It depends on what your measurements are and the astigmatism correction as to what brand is best

Yes, a patient could wear 2 different brands depending on Rx. but most doctors like to keep it the same in each eye

1. I get my contacts at Wal-Mart, and after your exam, they give you a trial pair of contacts that's included in the cost of the exam.

2. I'm not sure, but I think you can keep trying different brands until you find one that works. The doctors won't want you wearing uncomfortable contacts.

3. I don't know about hard lenses, but I wear SofLens 66 Toric in my right I and it works fine.

4. I think it's probably pretty common. I still wear two different brands because I need a toric lens for my right eye.

I hope I helped!! Happy contacts hunting.

They will give you a trial pair to wear for about 2 weeks, to see how you do wearing them.

You can keep trying different types until you find the one that you and your eye doctor feel works best for you.

Your doctor will be able to recommend what's best for your astigmatism.

If your eye doctor thinks you need 2 different brands, he should be able to give you one of each.
