Eye doctors =[?!
Question: ok so i have 2 go 2 the eye doctors 4 my first time an di m kinda sacrred about it i have 2 go cauz my vision SUCKS and i was wondering what they are goin 2 do 2 me?? i really dont wanna go cauz i will look UGLY in glasses and i was also wondering if there are any online vision tests things so i can see how bad my vision really is =[

okay first off no there is not an online test, it would be impossible but im not even going to go into that.
this is what you do. go into the room. U will have to sit down in a chair and on an overhead they will put up a siries of letters in different sizes and the lady will ask you which ones you can see and which ones you cant.
after shes going to make you sit behind of a machine and look straight ahead to more letters. since the machine is infront of you (like..you have to see through the machine, it has eyewholes) she will keep on changing the lens in the eyewhole and you will notice your vision changing. she will then ask you "which lens do you see better through..a? or be? a? b?" and she will cahnge the lens realy quickly right infront of you. be honest and tell her which one you see better trough. Then she will give you another set of lenses and keeo on asking you which one you see better through, A or B. Just asnwer the question over and over again and eventually together you will find a lens in which you see through perfectly. This will be the lens strength in your future glasses.
Now...about the actuall glasses. I hate glasses and hate wearing them i look kinda funny in them so i bring them to school and keep them in my case, and when we have to copy down a note that u cant see i put them on for those few mintes, then put them away again. usually i only need to use them for a few minutes everyday.
and keeo in mind-there is a frame for everyone. usually when you go to the frame store ask the lady working there for help in picking the right frames for your face. remember to listen to them...they have training in choosing the right frames and color for people depending on their ethnic background, face shape, hair, neck length etc....
and dpnt be afraid to pick an exciting color and dont stay away from blod frames. They look realy cool and hot on people if they suite them.
p.s i actually realy like dark purple frames...look into colours like that.
They don't even touch you at all! All you do is look through a lens and see if you an see the letters on the wall. It takes about 10 minutes.
no but just get contacts then
Its not that bad. Dont sweat it. all they do is ask you to read letters off of the wall.
btw.You can always get contacts as a alternitive to glasses.
well duh u could ask for contacts. and number two It doesn't hurt at all I have been going there every 1,2 years and its the same thing ever year. all they do some stupid test I don't even know what for then they stake you into this room were they try all these different of lenses then they" whats better 1 or 2 then you do it over and over with like 15 to 30 different slides "I hate it so much" then you have to wait for like 1 to 2 weeks for them to get you lenses build I hate glasses so much.
the eye doctors isnt that bad. they usually just sit you in a chair put a big thing over your eyes and ask you if you can tell them what the letter is that appears on the wall. theres another test that where you put your head on a little resty thing and they just show a picture. you dont have to do anything but sit there. the only other test that i really remember is a test where you sit in a chair and put you head on a machine and they blow a puff of air into your eye. it doesnt hurt at all its just suprising. most doctors dont use that one anymore. they usually have a new machine where you just have to sit still while they put a microscope thing very close to you eye.
none of it hurts at all. and you might not even need glasses. if you can show responsibilty you might be able to get contacts. if they suggest glasses ask them if you could skip it and get contacts. depending on your age they should just give you the contacts
