If by "eyesight progressively worse" you mean his refractive error (power of glasses) increase, then no. Needing glasses never is a cause of blindness.
Blindness means seeing poorly even with glasses. Most blind people see things but see them blurry. Blindness results from eye injury or eye disease and can happen anytime. Blindness can come on suddenly, for example by eye injury or eye stroke. Or some on slowly over time for example with glaucoma or macular degeneration.
Some blind people see reasonably well, others see only blurry shapes, some see colour, some don;t.
Sure, but just because someones site is becoming worse doesn't mean they will go blind.
No, if eyesight gets worse the person would consult an optometrist and help resole the issue before it go too bad.
If a person's eyesight progressing gets worse, then something is wrong. Better for him to consult a eye specialist for treatment.
It depends what you means by eyesight getting worse. Conditions like glaucoma or macular degeneration can actually go farther than that. Refreactive errors, such as myopia can progress to legal blindness, but it is rare for it to be uncorrectable. I have a friend who is blind by any definition because his refractive error is go great that it cannot be corrected to more than 20/100 even with very strong lenses, however, he can read large type. So there is a wide variety here.
